Latourell Falls is a beautiful waterfall in the Columbia River Gorge. It is the perfect place for an Engagement Session. There is no hike involved, just a short little walk from the parking lot. The waterfall comes crashing down so close to the path that you can feel the mist. For the more adventurous, you can get up close and personal with Latourell Falls. I always love spending time in the Columbia River Gorge because its so beautiful, romantic and close to Portland. Heading out to the Gorge for your Engagement Photos, Elopement or Wedding is easy and you feel like you are in a whole other world.
Alisa & Blake are getting married in September and I am so excited for their wedding. They are the cutest couple, or lovely dovey and so comfortable in front of the camera. Alisa is so gorgeous and I love her big smile. Blake is very handsome and he adores Alisa. We met in the afternoon at Latourell Falls and spent some time exploring and taking photos before heading to our next location in the Gorge. Brenna Burnett Florals created a gorgeous white and green bouquet. It was perfect for the forest and waterfall location. Her work is amazing.
I love that Alisa & Blake were ready for an adventure and didn’t hesitate when I suggest they get closer to the waterfall. Adventurous couples are the best and we always have so much fun creating amazing photos. The memories made during these sessions are the best. Engagement Sessions are a wonderful time to get to know each other and practice being in front of the camera, which for some people, isn’t easy. Alisa & Blake are going to rock their wedding photos and I am so excited for their big day!
Check back soon for the second part of their Columbia River Gorge Engagement Session at Government Cove.

Cannon Beach is the perfect location for your Oregon Destination Elopement. I love being an Oregon Wedding photographer because of all the amazing places I get to witness couples in love say “I do”. When Zhe & Xinran first contacted me, I was so excited they were coming from Seattle to Oregon for their elopement photos. The Oregon Coast has been a very popular place to get married in recent years. The Oregon Coast is beautiful, whether its sunny or raining. Zhe & Xinran had never been to Cannon Beach and they were instantly in love with the tiny little town and miles of sand.
Originally we had planned on meeting at sunrise on a Saturday. When the weather forecast called for heavy rain Saturday morning we were a little bummed. However, the weather Friday was incredible, warm and sunny. Zhe & Xinran were able to get off work early on Friday and drive down from Seattle in time for sunset. It was so worth it. The sky was magical that evening.
Zhe & Xinran are the sweetest couple. They are so in love and so happy together. It was so much fun getting to know them and documenting their love for one another. Xinran looked beautiful in her dress. It was the perfect dress for the beach. We planned on getting in the ocean later in the evening, but within 5 minutes a wave snuck up and they were both wet. They smiled and laughed and the rest of the evening was amazing. I love when couples get in the ocean, splash and get wet.
I am so happy for these two! The following day we met at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm, but that story is for another day. Please enjoy these gorgeous moments of Zhe & Xinran in front of Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. This was such a perfect evening!

The Oregon Coast is always one of our favorite places to visit as a family. We head to the Coast several times a year. This was our first trip of 2017 to Cannon Beach. After the major January snowstorm and a week of freezing temperatures, we were so excited to see forecasted warmer temps at the beach. When Portland gets a record amount of snow, the whole city shuts down. The snow stayed day after day and we were ready to get away from it. After driving through a very snowy mountain pass, we finally came back down the mountains and the snow was gone. It was still a little chilly at the beach but it was sunny and dry.
The Cannon Beach area is usually our go to stop. There are several places in the area we like to visit, including Hug Point and Ecola State Park. We spent the day walking on the beach, throwing rocks, going to the candy store and watching a beautiful winter sunset. It was the perfect family day and the perfect escape from snowy Portland.
Most of Ecola State Park was closed due to storm damage. We were able to check out the view and it was breathtaking.
The tide was up pretty high so we were not able to get around the corner to the waterfall. Listening to the waves hit the rocks was incredible. I love this place.
After a yummy late lunch in Cannon Beach, we headed back to the beach. We took a long walk and the boys played football. It was so beautiful and the sunshine felt amazing. We decided to stay for sunset and I am so happy we did. This photo is a favorite for sure. We always do jumping photos and they always turn out different. I was so excited to have this photo shared on several Instagram pages, including Magic of Childhood and Moments in the Sun.
